Members of The Met Opera Chorus, The Met

Members of The Met Opera Chorus gathered outside on the iconic front steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art to present a holiday gift to the city: a brief pop-up concert featuring three holiday songs, “Carol of the Bells,” “Winter Wonderland,” and the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. The ensemble comprised members of The Met Opera Chorus, who have been out of work without pay since the COVID-19 shutdown began in March. Local neighbors and passersby were treated to the live event, while we livestreamed it on Instagram. Both national and local press coverage for the event was extensive.
