Celebrating NY Public Libraries, 42nd St.

Award Winning Authors Min Jin Lee and Nancy Mercado along with Tony Nominated Actor Daniel J Watts and The Martin Nevin Jazz Trio came together to celebrate the wonder and curiosity that our libraries afford us. The event took place on the steps of the New York Public Library at 41st and Fifth Avenue. Min Jin Lee read her NYTimes Opinion piece What I Want the Woman Behind the Counter to Know. Nancy Mercado read her poem, New York at 26. Actor Daniel J Watts read his poem, Country Boy. And The Martin Nevin Jazz Trio performed two Sonny Rollins songs, “Valse Hot” and “Sonnymoon for Two." Rollins' archives live in the New York Public Library.
